The lockdown begins and new habits emerge
It was March 2020 when the lockdown began. Now it is the end of June and the lockdown continues, although some of the rules have relaxed.
I am among the fortunate people that could and can continue to work from home. The house is comfortable and my partner is wonderful, thus the setting is pleasant. I was also lucky to not experience many of the lockdown symptoms except for the occasional irritability or low energy. My encounters with those were rare and short lived. My way out of them was always some form of activity from chores to reading a book, to gardening, until one day when I decided to start doing a physical exercise program. I have chosen to put it together myself, from available youtube resources and this whole experience eventually generated changes that reverberate in many aspects of my life.
I have replaced the otherwise usual commute time with exercise and ended up enjoying it so much, feeling so good exploring what each day can bring, that it inspired the name of this website – The Beautiful Journey!
The first day of exercise was April 5, 2020. Since then, each day, twice a day, I have been sporting! And I wasn’t alone, some friends have joined in as well and we’ve all seen some very nice transformations. 🙂 Currently, this is how the schedule looks like:
-
- weekdays
- 7:15am – 30 to 45 min min of yoga
- 6pm – 40 to 75 min of other practices
- weekdays
-
- weekend/bank holidays
- 8:30am – 40 to 75 min of yoga
- 6pm – 40 to 75 min of yoga/other practices
- weekend/bank holidays
At end of each week I wrote a journal entry about my experience with the training program I was putting together and various other aspects that I was learning about the body, sports or life. I will share all those journal entries on this blog and continue writing them as long as I keep showing up on the mat! 🙂
Join me and find out what you can take from my practice or what you could give to my practice through your feedback!
